PERSONALITY/HOBBIES/ETC

One of the main aspects of Claire is her (seemingly) friendliness. She's a very outgoing person, and attempts to talk to anyone and everyone, regardless of blood, house, gender, etc. She feels the need to know everyone, and will chat up even the meanest of people. Any student or teacher will most likely see her as being open, inviting, and friendly, when in reality, usually she is deciding on who is worth getting to know, and for what reasons. She does have true friends in which any powertrips she has she'll leave them out of, but mostly people are just competition or a means to get what she wants. Still, she is a teenage girl, and goes through the many phases of being a teenager. She'll have crushes, friends, enemies, etc, all while attemtping to make faux-friendships and contacts that will help her become 'great'. A few of the people she'll talk to she'll decide she respects and likes as a person, and will most likely try to pursue a friendship, but that isn't always the case.
You'll find that many of Claire's good traits aren't actually really good, since the fact that she does these things at all makes them bad, but are simply skills that she has aquired over the years. She's a good liar, manipulative, and subtle. However, she's usually very nice and generous to the people around her, so anything she asks of them seems like a simple favor, and her friends will take what she says for the truth - she's a seemingly very sweet, honest girl, afterall. Claire makes sure not to make it a habit to use people (or at least the same people over and over), since she wants to be as believable as possible. In addition, she's very patient when she has a plan, and will dedicate herself completely to the task on hand.
Ever since she was younger, Claire was a bit of a tomboy. She grew up with LOTS of girls (there were hardly any males in her family), and she needed to stand out, and being a perfect little girly-girl got old after the first few years. She then played with the neighborhood kids and the pureblood boys at some of her family's little pureblood gatherings. She never minded getting dirty, unlike most of the female family members of her age, and always loved to joke around - even if it was somewhat offensive. She loved to wrestle and mud-wrestle, prove her strengths to the males, and would do carry out any dare issued to her. None of this has really changed, and she still loves danger as much as always.
Because of her tomboyish tendencies, she always played rough. Sometimes, things would escalate, and both parties would say horrible things to each other when she they were younger. Eventually, Claire stopped caring about insults and carried a "sticks and stones" kind of attitude. She's able to laugh at herself and frequently does so, all while laughing at anyone laughing at her, too. She can take criticism without taking it overly personal, though she most likely won't use any advice, unless it's from someone she admires.
Claire - as stated before - is always up for a dare, and loves to be afraid, unlike many people. Whether it's going too high on her broom, being in an extremely violent fight, or telling a risky lie - Claire loves the adrenaline rush and the knowing she's going to get away with it. She doesn't get frustrated (as long as nothing uber-important is blown) when she fails at something, only sees it as a way to learn how to be even better in the future. She is usually very calm even in tense situations because of how much she simply LOVES them, and may be seen as a mediator when she's clearly not - she just happens to love watching conflict and violence.
Obviously, Claire is driven, determined, and ambitious, and will do whatever it takes to get what she wants. There's very few things that are "crossing the line", in her opinion (though there ARE some things she is unwilling to do), and doesn't feel any guilt whatsoever for hurting others when she needs to, as she's almost a sociopath, especially when regarding people she doesn't truly care about.
Claire, being a sneaky bitch, knows that there are OTHER sneaky bitches in the world, so she is very organized and keeps anything important with her at all times. She carries two journals - one, the trendy kind so people can write her pretty little notes, and another which is much less a diary and more of a notebook - she writes down any ideas she gets, any plans, how to go through with them, etcetc, and even the homework due. She's pretty creative with her plans, hence the need for the notebook, and sometimes coming up with such off the wall yet effective plans are even more fun than carrying them out - almost.
Academically, Claire loves challenging subjects - transfiguration and potions, mostly. She usually does well academically (although horribly boring classes put her to sleep and she never feels like going through the pain of studying something she doesn't find at least a little interesting), but she can't help but to adore both potions and transfiguration. Transfiguration has always been something that required work, and she loves to work for what she needs - in this case, a really good grade. She feels a sense of worth when she's in potions because she knows that one little screw up will ruin the whole potion.
In addition, Claire has loved flying since she was younger, and constantly had quidditch games with her family members. She fangirls Quidditch (*coughcoughantoncoughcough*) and bonds instantly with anyone who also plays/enjoys watching it, and adores friendly rivalry when it comes to that particular sport.

Claire, though she loves friendly rivalry, can be very competitive to the point of fault. She'll do whatever she can to win, and to prove herself to anyone who thought she wouldn't win. If it's a professional thing - such as quidditch - she won't risk losing her place by doing something as stupid as cheating, but if it's a disorganized spontaneous thing such as a dare, she figures anything goes. Most of the time her competitiveness and dare-devil nature can lead to some dangerous shit, yo, even more so than usual.
Not sports-wise and whatnot, Claire may play dirty, with using what she has to her advantage to get what she wants. If she must, she'll use sexuality to get her way, faux-friendships, subtle bribery, guilt-tripping or whatever else is possible to get her way. She doesn't, however, neither make a habit of this nor do so for any small thing - she's very strict with herself and prefers to do what she can without outside help - if you want to get something done right, you have to do it yourself and all. It's very hard for her to respect human feeling, unless it's that of someone very close to her or herself - but she always or almost always come first.
Although she doesn't always get away with it (not that she really minds...she figures it's all good, since a lot of students get in trouble with professors, after all), Claire doesn't always follow rules, especially at Hogwarts. She frequently attempts to bend or break the rules, and when she gets caught, gives an excuse for her behavior, plays nice with the professor who got her in trouble, and accepts her punishment and leaves as soon as she can to go back to trying to get around the rule she was breaking in the first place.
One of her less manipulative, secretive flaws is that she is very straight-forward and blunt. Putting things lightly isn't a strong point, especially when she's telling the truth, and she hates dancing around the question. She either comes out with a lie immediately or tells the truth immediately - no guessing games or beating around the bush, it's not at all Claire's style. Sometimes the truth CAN make things rather awkward, but she will seemingly not notice it when she plainly ignores it. Another not very secretive flaw is that she can snark like mad when she's talking about someone she truly, truly hates. She can go really off the handle when she gets into a rant and into cut-a-bitch mode, and completely rips into the victim of her anger. However, faced with the said person, she most likely will respond with faux-sweetness and subtle sarcasm and bitchiness, until she finds out a way to get them back for whatever pissed her off in the first place. On that note, whenever Claire has the urge to be a bitch, she usually does it as subtle as possible.
Claire is VERY self-first, except with her few friends that she considers really, really good friends. She's nice by default until it's a choice...her or someone else. She will pick herself, and though she'll use her manipulation, etcetc skills so that the person she'll step on will be more likely to forgive her, she doesn't regret it whatsoever, she still will do whatever it takes to get to the top.
Claire has been able to fool various people about various things since she was really young, so she underestimates people often. While she KNOWS there are other sneaky bitches in the world, she doesn't guess who, and unless she truly admires someone - she probably will believe they aren't capable of doing such a thing. She constantly takes huge risks because she thinks people will be too stupid to notice - and sometimes she slips. If someone seems like quite the pushover, Claire might take her chances and keep hurting them because she can, and frequently thinks her acts will go without punishment, whether it's because she's nice/liked by a few people or because most people are too stupid to catch it. She's also very skeptical - she doesn't believe something until she sees it. She doesn't believe there's a logical reason for everything, but she wants to see anything that the world has instore for her so she can say she can and so she knows the truth.
She doesn't seek conflict, because it might ruin her shiny reputation (which she cares a LOT about, by the way), but Claire enjoys random acts of violence and watching conflict. She would love to have someone at her mercy (also hence why she's attracted to the dark arts so much), because knowing she could actually kill someone would excite her, but if the situation actually came up, she'd be very much afraid and unsure of what to do.
Claire also may seem to have shifting loyalties - she wants to be on the winning side, or the more interesting side. Also, any faux-friendships she has may change depending on the usefulness of the person at hand, or if she has come across someone able to take their place without any setbacks.
She talks a lot, as she has a lot to say and for whatever reason cannot stand being alone. Honestly, Claire doesn't care about blood, she just cares about power and being better than everyone else, so she can talk to others without any moral dilemna, and she enjoys it. However, she may make some of the elitist's annoyed at her because she continues talking to them even though they believe she's a blood-traitor, but she doesn't really care. She just likes company, even if it is too much. Claire also sometimes drinks alcohol a littleee more than she should, so may say some pretty stupid things to someone in a state of being tipsy/on a bun.
Academically, while Claire attempts to do okay in her classes (she usually gets A's unless she really likes/doesn't like them), she isn't at all good at History of Magic or Astronomy. She hates looking at the sky - she doesn't see the point whatsoever - and history of magic bores her out of her mind.

Family: Claire is a Pureblood. Most of the members of her family are blood-traitors, although one of her aunts and her children seem to be "bad-seeds". Her mother's name is Ciera (54, healer), and her father is Hugh (58, also a healer).
Claire lived in Saskatchewan, Canada for most of her life, along with her older brother, Brian (19), and her younger sister, Emily (9). She often had family functions with her many family members. Although born to a very pure family, the Princeton's were not wealthy - merely middleclass, and only known among other pureblood families as blood traitors.
Being brought up with so many girls, Claire had to compete for for the attention, and came to despise dressing up and "girly" behavior. Thus, she became a tomboy, and liked to play with the wizarding boys rather than the girls. Because of this, she and her brother were pretty close, although he grew up to be a ladies man. She, Brian, and Emily had to deal with her huge family's constant presence until they moved to Manchester, England seven years ago (assuming that it's 2005 and Claire is in her sixth year), during 1998.
Because her parents are lame purebloods, she grew up with TV, muggle books, and all other sorts of muggle culture. She currently lives with Emily and her two parents, but during the holidays visits Brian rather than her actual home.

Yes, Virginia, Sagittarians can get sorted into House Slytherin. And not always as Quidditch players, either, although there have been jokes made about how the Hat will sort big, tall Sags into Slytherin just to pad out the team. Slytherin Sagittarians are sorted primarily because of their ability to dream; these Sags have a vision, and with the support of their House, can channel their energies to great achievements. In return they give their House something priceless beyond rubies: a sense of perspective. Temporary failure is not humiliating to the Sagittarius Slytherin, merely a temporary setback in pursuit of a goal. They can laugh at themselves even when other people are laughing at them, and of course that turns the joke on the idiots who came up with it in the first place. (How devious.) Although bright, these Slytherins will coast through their classes if they can get away with it; they'd rather envision the future than attend to the details of the present.

Sagittarians have a positive outlook on life, are full of enterprise, energy, versatility, adventurousness and eagerness to extend experience beyond the physically familiar.
